Read Lead CDF Freedom School Program will run from June 26th to Aug. 4th. For 6 weeks each summer, Read Lead joins dozens of community-based partners to deliver the Children’s Defense Fund Freedom School Program (CDF Freedom Schools®) curriculum, an innovative program proven to help children fall in love with reading, increase their self-esteem, and generate more positive attitudes toward learning. In 2015, a national assessment of 91 CDF Freedom Schools program sites found that 84% of participants did not experience any summer learning loss, and more than half the students (54%) improved their reading levels. Our summer programs will be held, June 26th-August 4th. We're expecting more than 240 scholars in grades K-8, with 30 college/grad students as servant leaders who will experience the best summer ever.
